Visual Research from Cassie

Here are some samples from my initial visual reserach - images from the British National Gallery - that resonated with the whole design team.

And here are some images of games that I started looking at after being inspired at our last production meeting.

Enjoy!

Visual Set Research

researchforblog.jpg

It's probably just me, but there is white and color in the show (in my mind). Something dignified but uncontrollable.

I don't have too much time, but I wanted to share what I came up in terms of visual research a little bit ago. I'm eager to see what aspects of what I see in these images show up on stage (and what does not).

Red and Green

So I'm thinking of my color scheme for costumes...... browns, whites, greys, creams, blacks with some hints of Red: for passion and love, and Green: for envy. i like the color scheme of the bottle picture that danny showed us, so i kind of went with that plus what i had already been looking at in my visual research. i really liked the green bottle in the picture so i really wanted to include that because it seems like an unobvious choice for the boldest color in the costumes. i also had a couple red pieces in my visual research and i generally believe red is good to throw in anywhere! Then i realized the meaning of both of these colors and it seemed perfect. we'll see if others agree........
I'm going to post visual research on here as i'm designing each costume, so first is...debbie:

Here are links to some outfits and pieces i like for debbie--i'm kind of going for a classic look with a little bit of rock (h&m style) thrown in--skulls and crossbones as phoebe requested:). I also want to throw in a little bit of a riding style for her and use red as her stand out color.
