We're showing this at 4f in Downtown Goshen tonight, but I thought I would give blog readers a little preview. Enjoy!
Tonight we shot a short teaser trailer for 4f (First Fridays Film Festival) (full disclosure: my company, Dannyprose, is a sponsor). I'm sitting here in front of the footage now, finishing off what was left of the Heinekens, and a few things keep jumping in to my head:
- It feels so very good - so good I hardly know how to describe it fully - to be back at New World Arts. Walking back into that theatre tonight felt like walking into a childhood room: same smells, same cracks in the wall. The last time I was in there for more than a performance was to paint the whole thing white, and tonight, surrounded by energy, was the perfect way to return.
- Cast matters, and there is no shortage of talent, energy, laughter and integrity in this one. I could not have picked a better group to launch Season Ten. Less than half were here tonight, but in a short few hours they explored a range from silly to heartbreaking. It was a joy to watch, let alone film.
- Bryan said it in his last post, Eric Kanagy has been saying it for years, and the people who work downtown have been trying to make it a reality: downtown Goshen is becoming the heart and soul of this city. I'm terribly glad that New World Arts is not going to miss it.
